Affiliate Contests
Affiliate contests are a term us affiliates know all to well, vendors of products set a fixed time-span in which affiliates have to sell as much as possible of their product to win prizes. Vendors offer great incentives to sell such as get ten sales and receive $200 or get first place for the keys to a new Audi– Sounds great. However, there is one problem most vendors do not fulfill their promises and many affiliates fall into their trap. Now for those who have fallen for this trap do not be ashamed, heck I even fell victim once to this travesty.
What angers me is that the same vendors that scam affiliates with this contests are the same ones bragging about the millions of dollars they are making in profit with their products. It is unbelievable how dishonest this industry has become.
The best part of the contests is the bogus excuse Vendors slap you in the face with “My Paypal account is…,” or “My bank ……” These vendors are not satisfied with just not paying you but they want to continue to lie to the affiliates. I remember when I participated in a contest and ended in 1st place, when I emailed the vendor for my prize he hit me with “My Paypal account is not working”, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited. A month later I see this vendor holding another contest, so I email him again and I received the same damn response.
Now let me make this clear, NOT ALL VENDORS ARE DISHONEST. Everything I expressed on this post is only directed towards those who deserve it.
If you are an Affiliate I recommend you do not get excited when you get emails with these contests and just ignore them. Do not do like many affiliates who sever their email list relationships just to win a contest. Who know if enough affiliates refuse to participate, some honesty can be brought back into this industry.
